I don't even know where to start. It's as if they're advocating a form of intellectual welfare for people who haven't applied themselves and done the necessary basic work in school!

They are quotes from George W. Bush, actually. When you said that idiots were taking over the world, the first thing I thought of was the second quote in the list. The others were nearby and seemed relevant.

Okay - I am donning my hat of grammar snobbery.
I have no problem with people making an occasional mistake. Hell, I have a Bachelor's in English and still make the occasional mistake in either pronunciation or spelling.
However, to simply allow people to spell and speak however they want dilutes the language, and further down the road can lead to confusion and an inability to communicate with differing groups.
If you didn't learn how to spell - get help. There are tons of programs available to help improve soft skills such as these. Hell - if you are enrolled in a college there is no reason to not avail yourself of free tutoring.
In summation, the man behind this article should go fornicate with a dictionary.
